Darker photos are considered to be called underexposed and lighter photos are considered overexposed. 

The smaller the depth of field is the more blurred the background is,

The bigger the depth of field is the less blurred out the background is. 

slow and fast shutter speed

To change your shutter speed to slow like these you need to twist the thing to under f/10 and it will give this blurred effect. 

To change it to fast you need o twist the thing to above f/30 and it will give a effect of it being very still.
